"As of release (January 2007) Quiz Creator is only available for Windows and is an efficient and cost-effective way to create dynamic, Flash-based surveys and assessments without the need for any training and development time....It's obvious that Wildform, Inc. has a finger on the pulse of youth today. You can hardly go anywhere on-line without running into some sort of "Have you ever... with your top 8?" or "220 things ALL ABOUT ME!" quizzes and surveys." -- DonnA, Futuresplash
"This is a great tool to use if you like to give your presentations a little extra flare. Nothing like going over the top and adding some flash movies and seamlessly incorporating them into powerpoint presentation. This will allow for more interactivity and keep the attention of the audience without putting them to sleep with the normal and basic powerpoint." --Scott, Futuresplash
This is a tutorial will show you how to change the default text in quizzes and surveys. The default text is all the text that appears in the quiz or survey that is not entered by you when creating the questions and answers. For instance all the button text such as "Begin Quiz", "Finish Quiz" and "Submit" is default text. This can be very useful for foreign localization (when you want to create a quiz or survey in a foreign language), when you want to change the text for surveys (e.g. change "Begin Quiz" to "Begin Survey") and any time you want to change the default text for any reason.

How to create a Flash survey for your web site or blog
You can use WildPresenter's Quiz Creator to create surveys. Surveys work just like quizzes except that there are no right or wrong answers. You can use all the same question types in a survey as in a quiz and you can combine quiz questions and survey questions in one project.
How to create a survey using WildPresenter
GETTING STARTED
Open WildPresenter, select Create New Project and name your project.
OPENING THE INTERFACE
To create a survey launch the Quiz Creator utility by selecting Shortcuts>Create a Quiz
The Quiz Creator interface will open.
Choose a Template and click Next to proceed.
CREATING A SURVEY
Once you have decided on your template you click "Next" which takes you to the "Create Questions" window. In this window we will change the mode to survey and add the survey questions.
When you select the survey mode your questions will not have correct and incorrect answers. So your report at the end of the survey will only show the selected answers and will not assign a score.
In the Question Editor section select the Survey Mode button. To insert a question click the Add button.
This will add the text "New Question" to the Question List and to the Question field.
The Type dropdown list allows you to choose between the four question types available.
Multiple Choice - multiple selection: This option allows you to enter in a multiple choice question that has multiple answers.
Multiple Choice - single selection: This option allows you to enter in a multiple choice question that has a single answer.
True - False: This option allows you to enter in a true or false survey question.
Fill in the Blank: This option allows the survey taker to manually enter in their answer.
In the Question field enter in your question.
If your question is multiple choice, to create the answers for your question, click the Add button in the "Choices" field. When you click "Add" the text "New Choice" will be added to the list. You click on this text to type in the choice you wish to add.
If you select True/False as the question type the survey taker will be presented with true and false choices for their answer.
If you select "Fill in the blank" as the question type the survey taker can enter in any answer of their choice.
To add additional questions click the Add button in the Questions List section.
You may combine different question types in the same survey.
You may edit any question and its corresponding answers at any time by clicking on it in the Question List. You may also reorder questions by dragging them up or down in the list.
When you are satisfied with all your survey questions and answers, click the Next button.
PREVIEWING YOUR SURVEY
You can now preview your finished survey.
If you need to make any changes to the survey click the Back button and you can change any element of the survey, including the template, the questions and the answers.
After you have previewed the survey and you are ready to use it, click the Save & Insert button to insert the project onto the WildPresenter stage.
Once you have placed the survey on the stage, you may edit it at any time by right clicking on the survey and selecting "Edit object".
SURVEY RESULTS
Once the user has completed the survey the results are available. The results show the question, the type of question it is, the choices and the selected choice/entered answer
If you have combined quiz questions and survey questions in the same project, then your score report will contain all the results and will calculate a score based only on the quiz questions.
CHANGING THE DEFAULT SURVEY TEXT
You can change any of the default text in a quiz or survey. For instance, you may wish to change the text "Begin Quiz" to "Begin Survey" and "Finish Quiz" to "Finish Survey". To do this, use the "Edit text" option in the Customize Template window.
This tutorial is meant to provide you with the basics for creating a survey. WildPresenter provides a rich array of features and options, and you will no doubt wish to explore these in greater depth. All of Presenter's features are explained in the help file.

What is the time now? Here's the electronic clock that works on general math formulas for rotation. As we know, each hand of a watch rotates 360° at different intervals. For:
The second hand:
takes 60 intervals to rotate 360°. So,
intervals = 3600 / 60 The minute hand:
takes 60 intervals to make 360°. So,
intervals = 360 / 60 The hour hand:
takes 12 intervals to make 360°. So,
intervals = 360 / 12
STEP ONE
Create a movie clip and draw a line perpendicular to the center for the mc(movie clip) and give a name "sec":
STEP TWO
Create two more clips for "min" and "hour" with varying size for the particular hands.
STEP THREE
Create one more mc(time) and drag the three mc(sec, min, hour) so that their centers coincide like the hands of a clock.
STEP FOUR
Give an instance name for the particular clips (sec, min, hour) in separate layer.
STEP FIVE
Create a new layer on the top & copy the code below:
Good video from National Geographic News Video: How Tsunamis Are Born with footage from the Indian Ocean disaster of 2004.
PS - If you have video you'd like to convert to Flash, add a music and a voice over narration to, and put in a player, you can do this in our multimedia presentation program, WildPresenter.
This is a very basic tutorial shows you how to make transparent backgrounds in WildPresenter. (This tutorial applies to the Flash SWF output from WildPresenter Pro 2+ and WildPresenter Lite 2+.) You can read the tutorial here or keep scrolling.
How to make transparent backgrounds in WildPresenter
INTRODUCTION
Creating transparent backgrounds in WildPresenter is easy. Not only can you create a transparent background for your entire project, you can also control the level of transparency of individual SWFs, and images within your project. You can also apply transparent backgrounds to videos within WildPresenter.
ADDING A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND TO YOUR PROJECT
To add a transparent background to your entire project, go to the New Project Wizard (located under the Wizard menu) and click through the new project wizard screens until you reach this screen:
Check the "Make background transparent" box. Checking this checkbox will cause the background to be transparent. If you select this, the background will appear white in WildPresenter, (since the color selected above is white) but when your project is exported, the background will actually be transparent and will not have any color.
If you would prefer to have WildPresenter default to always exporting transparent slides, you may change this default preferences in the Options Window. To change the default setting so that WildPresenter always exports slides with transparent backgrounds, from the View menu open the Option Window and check the "Slide background transparency" box. (You can always change your default setting back.)
ADDING A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND TO INDIVIDUAL SLIDES
If you have multiple slides in your project you may want to add transparent backgrounds to some of your slides, and not others. To add a transparent background to an individual slide, select a slide (by clicking on it) and open the Slide Settings Window located under the View menu. Check the "Transparent Background" box. Your slide background will disappear from the slide.
ADDING TRANSPARENCY TO YOUR FILES IN WILDPRESENTER
You can also control the alpha (transparency) level any image or Flash SWF in WildPresenter, including the animated text effects you can create in the program. To change the transparency level, select the file you wish to modify by clicking on it in the preview pane. Then open the Object Settings Window (under the View menu) and click on the Appearance tab.
At the bottom of the Object Settings Window, slide the Alpha setting to the level of transparency you desire. 0 is fully transparent and 100 is fully opaque.
The transparency level of your selected file will not be visible in the edit mode of your WildPresenter stage. In order to view the transparency level, click Play Preview or export your file and play it. Our file now looks like this:
CREATING A VIDEO FILE WITH A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND
You can also create video with a transparent background. There are two ways to do this, whic are described below.
An alpha channel is an extra channel within a video that is supported in some but not all video codecs that allows you to specify a transparent background. If you are working with a video that already has an alpha channel in it, in the File menu select "Import File" and open the Video/Audio/Image importer. Select a video that has a transparent background in it. Select an encoding preset from the dropdown menu. To use alpha channel you need to encode using either the Flash 8 SWF or Flash 8 FLV formats.
Next, go to the Video/Audio tab.
Note that if your input frame rate is 15, set the framerates in Framerate options to match that. You want your video and swf framerates to be a factor of the source video framerate. If your video has an alpha channel in it, click the Alpha Channel box. Click the encode button and encode your video. When you are finished encoding, close the video importer. The video is now on your stage.
When we play the video you can see the background of the top video is not visible.
Working with a video that does not have an alpha channel
If you are working with a video that does not have an alpha channel, you may add an alpha channel to it in WildPresenter. To do this, you need a video with a solid background. We will open the Video/Audio/Image importer again and select a video with a solid background. Our video has a black background.
Next, select a preset. Again we need to select either a Flash 8 SWF or Flash 8 FLV preset. After selecting a preset, go into the Video/Audio tab.
Note that the input framerate is 30. We will now change our Video and SWF framerates to 15, since 15 is a factor of 30. (15 divides evenly into 30.) In this case, because the video does not have an alpha channel in it, we are NOT going to check the Alpha Channel box.
Next, we need to open the Edit/Crop images window.
Check the Transparency box. You now have the ability to take out a specified color. We are going to take out the color black, since it is our background color.
The tolerance option changes it from being more transparent to less transparent. Close this window and click encode. When the video is finished, we can view the video. When we play it on our stage it looks like this:
One further point. Both of our videos were encoded at 15 frames per second. You want to make sure your project framerate is also set for 15 frames per second. To do this, go into the Project Settings Window (located in the View menu) and click the Output tab. Set your framerate in this tab to 15 frames per second, to ensure that the video in your project will play smoothly.
I have been trying to do this for awhile - discover a good and easy way to dispose of the continual turnover of computers we have. Yes we can and do donate them. But what happens to them in the end?

# Donate old computer hardware.
# Dump any portion of old computer hardware/high-tech junk in landfills.
# Refurbish and re-sell old computers.
# Ship old computers overseas where they are dumped in landfills or burned in crude pits.

Many people want to create video titles with transparent backgrounds so they can then import them into their non-linear editing software (NLE) and overlay the titles onto existing video. You can do this using Wild FX Pro. This tutorial contains information on how to do this with two popular nonlinear editors: Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas.
How to use Wild FX Pro video titles with an alpha channel in Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas
ABOUT THE ALPHA CHANNEL
One of the most popular methods for creating transparent backgrounds in video is to use an alpha channel.
Images represented on video are composed of three grayscale images called channels – one red, one green, one blue - or RGB images. An alpha channel is a fourth channel in
an RGB image that defines what parts of the image are transparent or semi-transparent.
An alpha channel can be either straight or premultiplied, depending on the program that created the image. Wild FX Pro uses the straight alpha channel. When an image contains a straight alpha channel, the transparency information is stored only in the alpha channel.
ACTIVATING THE ALPHA CHANNEL IN WILD FX PRO
When you select the transparent background option in the Video tab you activate the straight alpha channel setting in the graphics mode of your output video. This enables you to use the alpha channel setting if you select an output codec that supports alpha channels. If a codec which does not support alpha channels is used, the alpha will be lost in the final output. By adding an alpha channel, you can bring the video into a video editing software that supports alpha channel, such as Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas, to make the background transparent.
In order to export video titles from Wild FX Pro with a transparent alpha channel you must do the following:
1. You must check the "Transparent Background" checkbox in the Video tab.
2. You must use a codec that supports the use of alpha channel.
The following formats/codecs support the use of alpha channel transparency through Wild FX Pro:
MOV: Animation, None (uncompressed), PNG, TGA, TIFF, Indeo
AVI: None (uncompressed)
Image Sequences: PNG, TGA, TIFF
3. You must set the color depth option to "Millions of Colors+". Do not forget the "+" because the "+" is for the alpha channel.
(Please note that when using transparency, the background will appear white if you play the video file until you key out the background using the alpha channel option in your NLE.)
In the video tab, select “Optionsâ€. This brings up the Movie Settings window.
Selecting the “Settings†button in the Movie Settings window opens the Compression Settings window. Here you select the codec you wish to use and set the color depth.
Note: Certain codecs have an additional “Options†button in the Compression Settings window, which opens the Encoder Configuration window for that particular codec. Here is an example:
OTHER FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN USING ALPHA CHANNEL
Adding an extra frame
Many of the effects in Wild FX Pro have elements in them which can appear on the first frame of the output and throw off the alpha channel setting. Consequently, Wild FX Pro automatically adds a single frame to the beginning of the output if you have selected the transparent background option. If you do not want to have this extra frame added, you can select the "Remove extra frame from transparent video output" in the Options window.
Solid background
You will need to use a solid image background color (preferably black or white) without any gradient or image fill to use the alpha channel setting.
Working with NLEs
Once you have brought the video title into your non-linear editing software there is typically some method used to activate the transparency, so the program will know to make the background of the selected video transparent. Below are the methods used for Adobe Premiere 5 and Premiere Pro as well as Sony Vegas 5.
WORKING WITH ADOBE PREMIERE Adobe Premiere 5
First you place your main video on layer 1:
You will see the video in your preview window:
Next you place your transparent title on layer 2 or higher (to be superimposed a video track must be on any track other than Video 1):
You select the title video by clicking on it and then you open the transparency options:
Set the key type to “Alpha Channelâ€.
You can then set the active area of your project by dragging the active area bar over the area you wish to activate:
If you want to preview your video output you can choose to render the selection.
Then you can check your output:
Adpbe Premiere Pro
It is even easier to apply the alpha channel settings in Adobe Premiere Pro. This is because by default Adobe Premiere Pro preserves and displays the clip with transparency in all sequences where you use the file as a clip. All you have to do is ensure that the video title with alpha channel is on a higher video track.
Adobe Premiere Pro composites clips from the lowest track up, and the final video frame is a composite of clips on all visible tracks.
Other Key Options in Premiere
Premiere has numerous other options for keying out the background including Chroma key, RGB difference, Luminance, Black Alpha Matte, etc. However, we advise using the Alpha Channel method described above with Wild FX Pro’s video output, because you will get the best quality result.
SONY VEGAS 5
Import your video files into Sony Vegas. They will appear in the media pool. Media pool
Put your video titles on the timeline above whatever clip you wish it to appear over.
Right click on the video and select properties
In the "Media" tab select your option for the Alpha Channel. Change the setting from None to one of the other options provided.
To view the composite output, render your selection.

"So how does Google compare to Starbucks, which is a very good money making machine in the real world? The key differences between Google and Starbucks are:
* Starbucks spends money on expansion, but Google ads spread themselves;
* Starbucks spends a lot of money on maintenance, Google spends little;
* Starbucks spends money on marketing, but businesses flock to Google because it just works;
* Starbucks relies on people, Google relies on software.
These differences make Google by far the more attractive business, compared to Starbucks. To put it simply, Google has almost no friction."

This is a very basic tutorial to help you with panning and zooming images. (The tutorial that applies to WildPresenter Pro 2+ and WildPresenter Lite 2+). You can read the tutorial here or keep scrolling.
Panning and Zooming Images
INTRODUCTION
You can download a zip file with 2 projects that show the use of panning and zooming using the Super Transition animation.
In order to pan and zoom on images it is best to start with an image that is larger than the area you wish to pan or zoom on. You can, of course, enlarge the image in WildPresenter. However, when you scale an image larger, it will pixelate. So it is best to start with the largest possible image.
GETTING STARTED
Open WildPresenter and name your project.
INSERTING AN IMAGE
There are several ways to insert an image into WildPresenter. For this tutorial we will use the Import File button.
To insert an image click the Import File button and select an image.
The Import Image dialog box will open. Uncheck the Fit project dimensions button. You can also adjust the image quality in the Image Quality field. This value, set on a scale of whole numbers from 1 to 100, reflects the image quality for your image. The higher the number, the better the image quality, and the larger the file size. We recommend selecting a value between 50-90. Click OK when you are ready.
PROJECT SETTINGS
As mentioned, one of the keys to panning and zooming an image is having the image size be larger than the stage dimensions.
Another important key for smooth animation movement is to set a higher framerate.
To change the project dimensions open the Project Settings window and select the Output tab. You can change the project dimensions in the Dimensions field.
You can set a high framerate in the Frame Rate field. The higher the framerate is the smoother the pan (60 is probably the max because the flash player won't actually play much faster than that).
SETTING ANIMATIONS
Now that the project is set up you can create the panning and zooming.
Set the position of the image so a large portion is off the screen in the position you wish to pan from.
You can now select an animation. We suggest using the “Super Transition†animationbecause it allows you to specify the start position for an incoming animation and an end position for an outgoing animation which is what you need for panning, and it allows you to set scaling values which is what you need for zooming.
To select an animation open the Object Settings window and select the Animation tab. Click the Add New Animation button and select the “Super Transition†animation from the dropdown list. Make the animation outgoing and adjust the framerate to the project settings. Set the end position where you want it to beable.
Now add another super transition by clicking the Add New Animation button. Adjust the scaling by clicking the Custom button.
A dialog box will open. You can adjust the scaling here. 0-99% will reduce the size and 101-10000% will increase the size. Click OK when complete.
Preview your project by click a play button
CONCLUSION
We have now covered everything necessary for panning and zooming images. You can do much more with WildPresenter including adding images, audio, and even video. Other tutorials will cover these subjects. The WildPresenter help file also addresses these topics.
New tutorial: Add Click to Play to your WildPresenter Flash files
This is a very basic tutorial will show you how to make a WildPresenter object "Click to play".
You can read the tutorial here, or just keep scrolling.
How to make a WildPresenter object "Click to play"
INTRODUCTION
WildPresenter has a click to play option that you can add to any object. This is a very basic tutorial will show you how to make a WildPresenter object "Click to play". WildPresenter contains a great number of features that are not covered here. Instructions on how to use these features are located in the help file of WildPresenter.
GETTING STARTED
You can add the click to play option to any object in WildPresenter.
Please note that when you add a click to play it will stop your entire project until an area of the project is clicked (not just the selected object). If you want to add a click to play to an object within a project and not have it affect the rest of the project, add the click to play in one project, save it, export it and then reimport that object into a new project. Then set that object to either the "Load External File" or "Preload" play modes and the click to play will only affect that particular object.
For this tutorial we will add click to play to a video.
To insert a video click the Shortcuts button and select Convert Video, Audio, Image to Flash.
The Import Video/Audio/Images box will open. Browse to your video file and select a Preset from the dropdown list. Once you have made your selections click Encode & Insert.
CLICK TO PLAY - 2 MODES
There are 2 modes for click to play. WildPresenter will automatically select the appropriate mode for your object, but you can change it if you wish. One is if your object uses the "Stream" play mode. The other is if your object uses "Preload" or "Load External File" play modes. The difference is that if your object uses the "Stream" play mode, the object plays along with the main timeline of your movie, so you can add a stop to the first frame and the object will stop. But if the object uses "Preload" or "Load External File" play modes, then once the object starts, it will not stop until it is finished because they play independently of your main timeline. So the stop is added one frame before - otherwise the object would start playing and the click to play would not affect it.
STREAM PLAY MODE - CLICK TO PLAY
Check the Click to Play box. If your object is in the stream play mode it defaults to "on first frame"
PRELOAD PLAY MODE & LOAD EXTERNAL FILE PLAY MODE - CLICK TO PLAY
Check the Click to Play box. If your object is in the preload or load external file play modes it defaults to "one frame before" because objects in those play modes cannot be stopped once they start (they play independently).reload Play Mode & Load External File Play Mode - Click to play
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Another nice touch is to add a "Click to play" text box. This lets the user know that they can click the video to play it.
To add a textbox click the Insert Textbox button.
Place the text over the video. You can format the text by right clicking the textbox.
Select the textbox and open the Object Settings window. In the Play tab check the Hide when done playing tab. This will make the text disappear when the video begins.
This is what the timeline will look like in Stream Play Mode. The text box is above the video so it is visible (remember that objects on higher layers appear above objects in layers below them). When it is clicked the text will disappear and the video will begin.
CONCLUSION
We have now covered everything necessary to make a WildPresenter object Click to play". You can do much more with WildPresenter; other tutorials will cover these subjects. The WildPresenter help file also addresses these topics.
"My choice came down to Wildpresenter, Camtasia, and Captivate..."
We just got this great comment from one of our customers!
"I tested almost every presentation and e-learning application available. At the beginning I didn't want to spend more than $100, but then I realized that good applications cost more and are well worth the money. My choice came down to Wildpresenter, Camtasia, and Captivate, and I worked with all 3 intensively. In the end I chose WildPresenter because I found it to be the best. It is the most powerful and flexible program, and I got the most for my money. It's also easy to use." -- Marco Baer, founder, vegasvideo.de

"While visitors to MorethanMonarchs.org can also email political officials in Mexico about illegal logging practices in the Monarch Biosphere Region, the winter nesting grounds for monarch butterflies, the ECO-LIFE Foundation has taken full advantage of current web technology, and broadened the scope of communication possible at their site. Not only can concerned citizens of this region email environmental protection officials in Mexico City; they can also share their stories on the site, upload photographs of logging activities, and discuss the effects of these practices on both butterfly and human populations."

The Foresight Project and Step it Up on April 14th
The Foresight Project
holds an annual contest for high school kids to write or make a video of their imagined solutions to our energy and climate issues. The contest is called Imagining Tomorrow: Alternate Energy Futures
Mary Essary, the founder and visionary of this nationwide contest believes that writing and the creation of video can be powerful tools to help shape students minds, and that science-fiction can be a great way to get them thinking about many of the ways in which we can ensure our future on this planet. The contest is a way to get students to look around in their own backyards and see the realities of the issues we face, while encouraging them to unleash their creativity and envision how we might solve them.
