How to create a Flash survey for your web site or blog
You can use WildPresenter's Quiz Creator to create surveys. Surveys work just like quizzes except that there are no right or wrong answers. You can use all the same question types in a survey as in a quiz and you can combine quiz questions and survey questions in one project.
How to create a survey using WildPresenter
GETTING STARTED
Open WildPresenter, select Create New Project and name your project.
OPENING THE INTERFACE
To create a survey launch the Quiz Creator utility by selecting Shortcuts>Create a Quiz
The Quiz Creator interface will open.
Choose a Template and click Next to proceed.
CREATING A SURVEY
Once you have decided on your template you click "Next" which takes you to the "Create Questions" window. In this window we will change the mode to survey and add the survey questions.
When you select the survey mode your questions will not have correct and incorrect answers. So your report at the end of the survey will only show the selected answers and will not assign a score.
In the Question Editor section select the Survey Mode button. To insert a question click the Add button.
This will add the text "New Question" to the Question List and to the Question field.
The Type dropdown list allows you to choose between the four question types available.
Multiple Choice - multiple selection: This option allows you to enter in a multiple choice question that has multiple answers.
Multiple Choice - single selection: This option allows you to enter in a multiple choice question that has a single answer.
True - False: This option allows you to enter in a true or false survey question.
Fill in the Blank: This option allows the survey taker to manually enter in their answer.
In the Question field enter in your question.
If your question is multiple choice, to create the answers for your question, click the Add button in the "Choices" field. When you click "Add" the text "New Choice" will be added to the list. You click on this text to type in the choice you wish to add.
If you select True/False as the question type the survey taker will be presented with true and false choices for their answer.
If you select "Fill in the blank" as the question type the survey taker can enter in any answer of their choice.
To add additional questions click the Add button in the Questions List section.
You may combine different question types in the same survey.
You may edit any question and its corresponding answers at any time by clicking on it in the Question List. You may also reorder questions by dragging them up or down in the list.
When you are satisfied with all your survey questions and answers, click the Next button.
PREVIEWING YOUR SURVEY
You can now preview your finished survey.
If you need to make any changes to the survey click the Back button and you can change any element of the survey, including the template, the questions and the answers.
After you have previewed the survey and you are ready to use it, click the Save & Insert button to insert the project onto the WildPresenter stage.
Once you have placed the survey on the stage, you may edit it at any time by right clicking on the survey and selecting "Edit object".
SURVEY RESULTS
Once the user has completed the survey the results are available. The results show the question, the type of question it is, the choices and the selected choice/entered answer
If you have combined quiz questions and survey questions in the same project, then your score report will contain all the results and will calculate a score based only on the quiz questions.
CHANGING THE DEFAULT SURVEY TEXT
You can change any of the default text in a quiz or survey. For instance, you may wish to change the text "Begin Quiz" to "Begin Survey" and "Finish Quiz" to "Finish Survey". To do this, use the "Edit text" option in the Customize Template window.
We have a tutorial on how to do this here.
This tutorial is meant to provide you with the basics for creating a survey. WildPresenter provides a rich array of features and options, and you will no doubt wish to explore these in greater depth. All of Presenter's features are explained in the help file.
