Adding preloaders to SWF and FLV files

This tutorial shows you how to add preloaders to SWF and FLV files in WildPresenter. (The tutorial that applies to WildPresenter Pro 2+). You can read the tutorial here or keep scrolling.

INTRODUCTION

WildPresenter has a very useful preloader feature that enables you to add a preloader to your entire Flash SWF output or to any individual SWF or FLV file within your project.

This tutorial explains how to add a preloader to SWF and FLV files in WildPresenter.
The Preload option allows you to program an automatic preloader into your WildPresenter output. This is for web streaming purposes only. Preloaders will not work on WildPresenter Flash SWFs or FLVs played locally from a hard drive or CD.

The purpose of preloaders is to ensure smooth playback of larger Flash SWF and FLV files for users on slower connections. In this way, users on slower speed connections (e.g., dial up modems) can view larger Flash SWF/FLV files without buffering or the Flash SWF/FLV stopping and starting.

How to localize your quizzes and surveys

This is a tutorial will show you how to change the default text in quizzes and surveys. The default text is all the text that appears in the quiz or survey that is not entered by you when creating the questions and answers. For instance all the button text such as "Begin Quiz", "Finish Quiz" and "Submit" is default text. This can be very useful for foreign localization (when you want to create a quiz or survey in a foreign language), when you want to change the text for surveys (e.g. change "Begin Quiz" to "Begin Survey") and any time you want to change the default text for any reason.

How to Make a Flash Clock

What is the time now? Here's the electronic clock that works on general math formulas for rotation. As we know, each hand of a watch rotates 360° at different intervals. For:

The second hand:
takes 60 intervals to rotate 360°. So,
intervals = 3600 / 60
The minute hand:
takes 60 intervals to make 360°. So,
intervals = 360 / 60
The hour hand:
takes 12 intervals to make 360°. So,
intervals = 360 / 12

Make your video backgrounds disappear

Many people want to create video titles with transparent backgrounds so they can then import them into their non-linear editing software (NLE) and overlay the titles onto existing video. You can do this using Wild FX Pro. This tutorial contains information on how to do this with two popular nonlinear editors: Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas.

How to use Wild FX Pro video titles with an alpha channel in Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas

ABOUT THE ALPHA CHANNEL
One of the most popular methods for creating transparent backgrounds in video is to use an alpha channel.

Images represented on video are composed of three grayscale images called channels – one red, one green, one blue - or RGB images. An alpha channel is a fourth channel in
an RGB image that defines what parts of the image are transparent or semi-transparent.
An alpha channel can be either straight or premultiplied, depending on the program that created the image. Wild FX Pro uses the straight alpha channel. When an image contains a straight alpha channel, the transparency information is stored only in the alpha channel.

Panning and Zooming Images

This is a very basic tutorial to help you with panning and zooming images. (The tutorial that applies to WildPresenter Pro 2+ and WildPresenter Lite 2+). You can read the tutorial here or keep scrolling.

Panning and Zooming Images

INTRODUCTION

You can download a zip file with 2 projects that show the use of panning and zooming using the Super Transition animation.

In order to pan and zoom on images it is best to start with an image that is larger than the area you wish to pan or zoom on. You can, of course, enlarge the image in WildPresenter. However, when you scale an image larger, it will pixelate. So it is best to start with the largest possible image.
